Ecommerce SEO for a Sustainable Baby Brand

7.5
Blankei is an independent baby brand specialising in beautifully designed organic cotton baby blankets. Pagency’s work has focused on strengthening the ecommerce site’s SEO foundations and helping more potential customers discover the brand through organic search.
Rather than approaching SEO as a one-off optimisation exercise, the work has concentrated on building a stronger foundation across the website, improving how products and categories are structured, understood by Google and discovered by customers.
For a smaller ecommerce brand competing against established retailers, simply having beautiful products online isn’t enough. The website needs to clearly communicate what those products are, capture relevant searches and give Google a technically sound structure to crawl and index.
Pagency’s ecommerce SEO work for Blankei has included reviewing and improving the WooCommerce site’s technical foundations, optimising category and product content, improving page titles and metadata, strengthening heading structures and resolving indexing and canonical issues.
The work also included cleaning up the site’s /shop/ structure and improving category copy so that important commercial pages have a clearer purpose for both customers and search engines.
Ongoing monitoring through Google Search Console allows SEO priorities to be guided by real search behaviour rather than assumptions.

Blankei operates in a competitive ecommerce market. Searches around baby blankets, organic baby products and gifts can place an independent brand alongside much larger retailers with significantly greater domain authority, marketing budgets and established search visibility.
That makes the structure of the website particularly important.
Pagency’s initial SEO work focused on removing some of the barriers that could prevent Blankei’s strongest pages from performing effectively in search.
The WooCommerce /shop/ structure was reviewed and cleaned up, category pages were strengthened with more useful search-focused content, canonical signals were corrected and heading structures improved. Product and category optimisation has continued alongside technical SEO checks and Search Console monitoring.
The aim isn’t to chase rankings for the broadest possible keywords overnight. It’s to progressively increase the number of commercially relevant searches where Blankei can realistically compete, building visibility, traffic and ultimately product sales as the site’s search authority grows.

Blankei is building a stronger organic search footprint, with Google Search Console providing an increasingly useful picture of how customers are discovering the brand and where the next opportunities lie.
Organic clicks are now averaging just over 100 a month, 297 in the last 90 days, with the most recent 30 days alone bringing in 115, ahead of the trailing average. Impressions have reached nearly 80,000 in the same 90-day window (79,961), at an average position of 7.5, a firm foothold on page one for the searches that matter, holding steady even as the site’s visibility keeps broadening.
The next stage is focused on turning that growing visibility into commercial growth: expanding non-brand search exposure, improving rankings for high-intent product and category searches and increasing the proportion of organic visitors who go on to purchase.
For Blankei, success isn’t simply about generating more impressions. It’s about creating a sustainable acquisition channel that brings people actively searching for products like theirs to the website and ultimately helps an independent brand sell more online.
